CoEd Varsity Cross Country

Joe Fulton has been coaching PHS athletes for nearly four decades.  He is an eight-time Oregon Coach of the Year and has been part of 16 state championships teams.  He is one of only three Oregon head coaches (the only one from a public high school) to win state team titles in boys cross country, girls ross country, boys track and girls track. 

Philomath Cross Country holds the all-time state records for consecutive trips to state: 31 for the girls and 33 for the boys.  They have won a combined 35 top four team trophies at the state meet.

Joe competed for Central Catholic High School in Portland and at Oregon State University.  He formed the Timberhill Harriers running club in 1981 and has hosted the Timberhill Harriers Running Camp for 30 years.  He is past president of Oregon USA Track & Field.
